  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 bunch basil fresh
  • 1/4 tsp pink salt or more to taste
  • pepper to taste


  • Mince garlic to a paste with pink salt
  • Add garlic mixture, egg yolk, lemon juice, and mustard to blender/food processor
  • Add oil and pulse until oil is incorporated and mixture is emulsified
  • Add basil and continue to process
  • Season with pink salt and pepper, to taste
  • Whisk in some water if mixture is too thick
  • Chill, covered, until ready to eat
