Ingredients
- 3 lbs apples
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Heat crockpot to low
- Chop and core apples then place into crockpot
- Add spices and water to apples and cover with lid
- Cook for 6 hours
- Transfer apples to blender/food processor (or use an immersion blender) to puree
- Transfer back to crockpot
- Loosely cover with lid, allowing steam to escape, and cook 6-8 more hours (or until mixture is reduced by nearly half)
- Transfer to glass jar(s) and store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks
- Note: You may use 3 servings (6T) if you want to count this as your fruit in P2 or you may use 1 serving (2T) along with ½ of an apple cut into slices
